Replacing Lightroom
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has finally hit the streets. I have been using the Beta to mange importing and organizing photos, but I don't use all the application's fancy bells and whistles to justify dropping $299 on the shipping version.
Apple's iPhoto came with my system, but I have never found it to meet my needs. What I need is a simple app that has good metadata support. I want to be able to:
Import photos directly from my Canon PowerShot SD700 and have the photos stored by date.
Have the ability to create sets, categories, and possibly tag photos. It would be a plus if set, category and tag data was stored in an open format.
Integration with Adobe PhotoShop. I want to be able to open photos from the app in Photoshop.
Integration with online services would be a big plus (Eg. Can submit photos to flickr).
Anyone have any suggestions? What do you use?
