Print Council Meeting
The Print Council held their annual meeting this afternoon during the executive kickoff at Graph Expo and officially released their Why Print? The Top Ten Ways Print Helps You Prosper brochure.
The Why Print? brochure marks the beginning of a new initiatives The Print Council will be investing in near-term to help printers sell the value of print to media specifiers:
the full-color brochure marks the launch of an ongoing series of strategic activities by The Print Council designed to make a major impact on media decision makers, significantly elevating their awareness of, and appreciation for, the value of print.
The Print Council Going Forward
The Print Council will continue to work with the Printing Industry Center at RIT. The Printing Industry Center, an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation industry center will spearhead the council's initiative to build a marketing information clearinghouse.
According to Print Council Executive Director Ben Cooper, the marketing information clearinghouse will provide verifiable research that the print markets can use to sell the value of print.
The launch timeline for the marketing information clearinghouse is 3 to 6 months.
It's Free
All the research and data being released by The Print Council is free (as in free beer and free as in freedom). Print marketers will have access to all the data and will be able to use it as they see fit in their own marketing and sales programs.
The Why Print? brochure and a collection of touchpoints are available on the Print Council's website.
Disclosure: I was part of the RIT team contracted by the Print Council to work on the research and data collection process for the The Why Print? brochure.
