EMRT Lecture Series
I sat through Frank Cost's The Book as Child of the Internet lecture at EMRT this morning. Frank was invited by a EMRT, local consultanting firm to speak to a group scientists and engineers for their monthly internal lecture series.
The lecture was great and has improved from when I saw it a few weeks ago. And the EMRT folks seemed to like it. I heard lots of buzz about creating self-published books ideas during his lecture. I'm sure Lulu and Blurb will have a few new titles in the next couple of weeks that were conceptualized this morning.
EMRT is one of those small little niche companies that falls under the radar unless you specifically go out looking for them. EMRT specializes in product development and systems integration for a diverse set of industries including digital printing and imagining, medical systems, and structural monitoring (bridges and buildings).
For the digital printing and imagining industries, EMRT develops web-based software systems that enable workflow automation, monitoring and management of print production. -- They are developing and integrating the type of systems I'm analyzing in my thesis.
