Colorful Lightning
Lighting Source announced back in May that were adding full-color book capabilities to their service offerings. They are now starting to vamp up these capabilities: 
Beginning September 6, 2006, Lightning Source publishers may begin to set up and send files to Lightning Source for color books. We will begin the manufacture of color book proof copies immediately. Full production of color books will begin October 2006.
Lighting Source utilizes an advanced deterministic print production workflow to efficiently manufacture orders of any quantity (The most advanced print production workflow I have seen). Color books will be available in two trim sizes: 8.5X8.5 and 8.5X11 and binding style will be determined by page count: books with 3 to 47 pages will be saddle-stitched, perfect binding will be used for books with 48 to 480 pages.
Like their black and white offerings, color books can take advantage of Lighting Source's distribution program which makes your book available on Amazon.com and to Barnes and Noble customers among others.
