Celebrate International Printing Week
January 15-21 is International Printing Week.
International Printing Week® (also know as Graphic Communications Week in education circles) is a motivational tool that all people in the graphic communications industry can use to enhance our industry. International Printing Week® has a more industry emphasis, while Graphic Communications Week, sponsored by the International Graphic Arts Education Association, focuses on educational programs across the country. By combining efforts and getting both the industry and education celebrations to work together, we will be able to reach not just current employees, but future employees as well.
Being proud of this industry, we need to be involved in telling others about our industry, how big, how diverse, how technologically-driven it is, how critical it is to our country's well being, etc. During the week in January that holds Ben Franklin's birthday, January 17th, we can take the time to make all this visible to everyone in and out of our industry (the week runs from Sunday through Saturday). There are individual clubs and schools all across this country and in Canada that always make big plans to celebrate this week. If you are not already involved, consider finding something special to do with your employees, customers, students, and associates. It just takes one step and you are moving forward, and maybe next year you can plan a little bigger activity.
You can read more about International Printing Week on IAPHC's International Printing Week website.
